Client relationships don’t happen by chance. And they certainly don’t happen in a short space of time.
Here at S3, we are extremely proud to be ranked number one in the UK at the Drum Digital Census 2014/2015 for Excellent Client Feedback in the Media Agencies Sector. But we haven’t won these awards by chance; there’s no luck involved, rather an understanding of the importance of client satisfaction that runs through the collective blood of our agency.
The process of building a good relationship with a client is similar to the process of building a house. Or an office building. Watching the construction of the new BBC headquarters from our windows reminds me of the way our client relationships are built. It all starts by making sure you have a strong foundation, before planning strategically and thoughtfully through the whole process.
In a world where competitors abound for any and all types of businesses, client relationships are what make the difference when it comes to choosing one brand or company over the other. Sure, you can have a fancy CRM system in place that automates a lot of communications and keeps your client database nicely updated, but what really matters is the human connection you have with a client.
To ensure a successful client relationship, you have to be patient and build the relationship organically. At S3, we make it our mission to learn as much as possible about our clients and their industry.
We exceed expectations, always going the extra mile for every client; not because we have to, but because we want to. These are just a few key points we put into EVERY working relationship, but as you forge a rapport with your client, you’ll be able to detect different opportunities to strengthen it even further.
Remember that every client is different and there are no shortcuts to building these relationships. If you’re going to do something, then you’ve got to do it properly. And that takes time.
Although these relationships come naturally here at S3, we don’t take anything for granted. We put huge effort into forging real, meaningful relationships built on an emotional connection with every client. Our goal, that said, is to make them part of #TeamS3, sharing each other’s successes along the way.
After all, without our clients, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
