Industry Stalwart Joins S3 as We Go From Strength to Strength

S3 have fired another clear signal of intent to the advertising industry with the announcement of new Commercial Director, Mike Webb.

Boasting nearly 20 years’ advertising experience, Webb joins the agency following stints at media owners, Disrupt Outdoor and Exterion. With unrivalled industry knowledge and commercial awareness, he will be tasked with bringing in new business and clients to the agency on local, regional and national levels.

“We’ve got a fantastic array of teams – media, creative, digital, PR – here at S3, and I’m just looking forward to selling the whole 360°, S3 package,” says Webb.

Having opened a London-based office in April and won a string of new clients – including S4C, Airbus and Bounce Energy Balls – getting Webb on board is another string to S3’s CEO, Matt Jones, bow that he wanted to add in 2017.

Jones, 2016’s Entrepreneur of the Year, said: “I’ve known Mike for the best part of 15 years, having first worked with him at Newsquest. We’ve always had a great rapport and his record within the industry speaks for itself, which is why I’ve wanted him here at S3 for a long time.”

The feeling of respect and admiration is clearly mutual, with Webb adding: “Matt has gone onto achieve fantastic things with S3 Advertising. It’s been a privilege watching his business grow, and I can’t wait to be part of his team and taking things onto the next level.”

Webb is the fifth member of staff to have joined in the past month, as Jones looks to bolster S3’s expertise as a full-service agency across the board. Working alongside S3’s Client Account Directors, James Rawlings and Rebecca Campbell, Webb is relishing the opportunity to be able to offer existing clients 360° campaigns, as well as going after new brands.

He added: “I can’t wait to get my teeth into the new business side of things, talking to clients all over the UK. I especially want to target challenger brands, to ensure that we’re engaging with the right audiences so they can get the best return on investment from their spend.” 2017 has been another great year for the agency and, already looking ahead to 2018, Jones sees Webb playing an integral part in S3’s future success, concluding:

“Just because we’ve enjoyed all this success, don’t think for a minute we’re going to become complacent. The addition of Mike is a clear sign to the industry that we’re not ones to rest on our laurels.”
