Bringing the Brecon Beacons to Life
Brecon Carreg needed a concept that would work across a range of formats and media – one that would have longevity and strength, but also that would reflect the majesty of the Brecon Beacons itself. And who better to represent a brand from the heart of Wales than an agency in the heart of Wales?
For the website, our design team wanted to create a place that would give the user a feeling of actually being in the Beacons, leaning on the fact that a web visitor will stay on a site for around 35 per cent longer if the first thing they see is large scale images or video.
Removing the need for visitors to navigate the site in order to find out more about the brand, we utilised bespoke video – including drone footage – to tell the story. That, combined with beautiful imagery and a sleek, modern, easy-to-navigate site, made the new design a hit with both client and visitor alike.
Our creative team also took the concept and imagery to create a bold, beautiful ad campaign to work across several formats including street liners, 48 sheets, 6 Sheets, digital 6 sheets and in-store promotional POS.
With content this visual and powerful, we wanted to make it work across social media, too. Brecon Carreg has always aimed to encourage and inspire people of all ages and abilities to increase their physical activity, particularly with running. Not only is it a great way to get fit and healthy, it’s also a way of experiencing great landscapes, such as the Beacons. Together we created Team Brecon Carreg, encouraging people to take part in races of their choosing. The S3 Advertising social media team then followed the progress, encouraging people to engage with us and each other using the hashtag #TeamBreconCarreg.
