As far as ways to start the new week are concerned, we can certainly think of worse ways than having to find room on our office awards shelf for two new trophies.
On Friday night at Cardiff’s City Hall, our PR team picked up a Gold and Silver at the 2018 Cymru Wales Pride Awards; just reward for what has been a truly incredible year for the department. With S3 already proud sponsors of the event itself, winning awards was simply icing on the cake for what was a fantastic ceremony and night.
We scooped Gold in the Arts, Culture or Sport Campaign category for our work entitled: Helping Pride Cymru Take the Rainbow to Wales. As a modern, forward-thinking, diverse ad agency, we were delighted when Pride Cymru asked us to oversee the PR elements of their 2017 festival.
From creating pre-event promotional material to social media buzz to securing positive press coverage; we concentrated on securing and managing press placement during the course of the event for live and post-event coverage, gathering content during the course of the weekend and live-engagement with users, with the aim of promoting event success.
Our strategy spoke for itself, as S3 secured a record-breaking 123 pieces of PR coverage (+146% on target), a 27% increase in Google searches for Pride Cymru (vs. 2016) and an incredible 28,000 attendees on the Saturday (+55% vs. 2016).
Our Silver came in the Consumer Relations Campaign category for Bounce Foods Ltd. Following a successful stint working together on social media during 2017, Bounce briefed us to deliver their social and PR activity throughout Jan-May 2018.
Employing a strategy that tied once separate PR and social media activity strands together, we went to work on an activation plan that worked alongside Bounce’s central marketing activity; feeding out across all core channels, strengthening brand with consistent messaging as a result.
Of these activations, our bold, disruptive work for the brand during London Fashion Week truly turned heads, promoting the brand’s mainstream credentials in the process.
Speaking after the event, our CEO, Matt, said: “What can be said about our PR team that hasn’t already been said? Professional, proficient and proactive, they really do provide the best PR Cardiff, Wales and the UK has to offer. These particular campaigns’ results and efficiencies show that, as do these latest awards.”
Following the success of the 2018 Cymru Wales Pride Awards, we will be looking to continue this positive momentum at next week’s Fast Growth 50 awards, which establish and reward the fastest-growing firms in Wales.
