It’s hard to think that nearly a week has passed since we found out that our Unleash Your Colours campaign for USW (University of South Wales), won Best Integrated Campaign (Large) at the 2019 CIM Marketing Excellence Awards.
It’s even harder, however, to think that it’s been nearly a year since we started planning all aspects of the campaign itself.
From insight to strategy, locations to logistics, pre to post-production; Unleash Your Colours was, without doubt, our boldest, most ambitious campaign to-date.
Because, with so many moving parts to manage concurrently, this was no ordinary task. But, with so many talented individuals within our agency and the university itself, we worked collaboratively to create extraordinary results.
Results that saw us create a large, integrated campaign that was not only ubiquitous, but bold and eye-catching – regardless of the channel on which it appeared.

Results that saw the campaign achieve record results for the university, beating off stiff competition from some of the world’s biggest brands in the process – not least Fujitsu, LV and Plusnet.

Perhaps the most special part of the campaign, however, was being able to share the experience of winning the award directly alongside the client; seeing the look of unencumbered joy on the faces of the university’s staff following the announcement, is a moment that will last long in the memory.
Because, when all is said and done, that’s the most important thing to S3: creating work that creates happy clients.
